Farmer's Market in Newmarket

This past weekend we spent some time with our friends Jen and Mike and their son Will in Newmarket. Jen gave us back road directions to Newmarket and we took those on the way there. It was a beautiful drive which both Dave and I really enjoyed. Rachel got tired about half and hour outside of Newmarket and cried the rest of the way there. Sam was very self-entertaining as usual and quite funny as well!

On Saturday we went to Newmarket's Farmer's Market as well as the fountain/swimming feature thing which was right by the market. The Farmer's Market was very fun to see. Sam enjoyed getting a fish painted on his hand and we all enjoyed listening to the musicians who played on the stage.

For lunch we had pizza, made fresh on site and baked in an outdoor oven. Dave and I both ordered the market feature of bechamel sauce, spinach and black olives. Yum yum yum!!!

After lunch we enjoyed the water feature as it was a hot day. We thought that if you walked underneath the fountain part you wouldn't get very wet but we were wrong! But it was quite cooling. Rachel loved walking around, even underneath the fountain and Sam just watched, although he was in the fountain.

We went back to Jen and Mike's, put the kids down for nap, although they were not all cooperative, and enjoyed good conversation, good iced tea and good monster cookies until Donny and Marika joined us for supper. Jen made an excellent spaghetti and sauce, Donny and Marika made very garlic-y garlic bread, and Dave and I made a very big salad. After supper it was time to go home, although we did so reluctantly. We had an excellent time and can't wait to do it again.
